How to Migrate from Whaticket to Wando Without Losing Anything

5 min read

If you've already decided to leave Whaticket and try Wando, you probably have two fears: losing your conversation history and having your WhatsApp number stop working. Don't worry, they are the two most common fears and both can be resolved without drama.

The good news is that Wando uses Meta's official WhatsApp API, just like Whaticket. That means the number is not touched: no need to change SIM cards, change numbers, or notify customers. What does change is the way you work, and that's what this guide is about.

First things first: your WhatsApp number doesn't move

Both Whaticket and Wando connect to WhatsApp through Meta's official API. In practice, your number is linked to a Meta business account, and the tool you use is just the one that reads and responds to messages.

When migrating, you don't have to unlink anything from Meta. You simply stop using Whaticket and connect that same number in Wando. The number, contacts, and history on Meta's side remain intact.

Prices, verified one by one

The prices and plans we mention were verified on whaticket.com on August 29, 2026. Always check the official site before deciding, as conditions change.

  • Whaticket Single plan: US$49/month with monthly billing — minimum 3 users and 1 WhatsApp connection; 20% off when paying annually.
  • Whaticket free trial: 14 days.
  • Wando Starter: US$9.99/month — 500 contacts, 1 user.
  • Wando Pro: US$19.99/month — 5,000 contacts, 3 users.
  • Wando Enterprise: US$49.99/month — 25,000 contacts, unlimited users.
  • Wando free trial: 14 days without a card.

What happens to the conversation history

The message history you have in Whaticket is not exported automatically. That data lives in Whaticket's database, and if you want to bring it to Wando, you have to export it from Whaticket (there is usually an option to export conversations or messages) and then import it into Wando.

Wando has a message inbox where you will see new conversations from the moment you connect the number. Old ones, if you don't export them, won't appear. But note: that doesn't mean you lose them forever. You can still view them in Whaticket as long as you have an active account, or export them to a file to keep as a backup.

If your priority is not to lose the context of recent chats, export the last 30 or 60 days. For the rest, a backup file is enough.

  • Export the conversations from Whaticket before deactivating the account.
  • Contact Wando support to help you with the import.
  • If you can't import, save a backup in CSV or Excel.

Contacts and tags: they can be migrated

In Wando you have a contacts section with tags, just like in Whaticket. Contact migration is quite straightforward: they are exported from Whaticket in a file and imported into Wando.

Labels can also be migrated, although sometimes you have to rebuild them by hand if the names don't match. It's not a huge job, but if you have many labels, it's worth spending an afternoon on it.

What doesn't migrate automatically is the interaction history of each contact. That stays in Whaticket. But the basic data (name, phone, labels) does transfer without a problem.

The fundamental difference: AI that learns vs. programmed flows

Whaticket is a very good shared inbox, but its automation is flow-based: you build an option tree and the customer chooses. It works, but it needs to be maintained and updated.

Wando is different: the AI suggests responses based on your business's real conversations, and your team approves them with one click. There's nothing to program. The more you use Wando, the better it understands how your team responds and the more accurate the suggestions become.

If you're coming from Whaticket, the adjustment is short: instead of building flows, you'll be approving responses that the AI proposes. It's a different paradigm, but it feels more natural, especially if your customers ask varied things and don't follow a script.

What each one is good for

Let's be fair: Whaticket is a great tool for large teams that need a solid shared inbox. If you have more than 3 people handling chats and you're not interested in AI, Whaticket remains a valid option.

Wando shines elsewhere: for SMBs that want to respond faster without hiring more people, and that value a tool that learns from their own style. Plus, the entry plan is more affordable than Whaticket's, and there's a free 14-day trial without a card.

The final decision depends on your team and your budget. If the volume of messages is overwhelming you and you want technology to help you respond better, Wando is a good fit. If you have a large team and highly structured processes, Whaticket will continue to serve you.

What the first day in Wando is like

Signing up is simple: you create your account, choose a plan (or start the 14-day trial without a card), and connect your WhatsApp number with a QR code. Within minutes, you're already receiving messages in the Wando inbox.

Then you configure the basics: business hours, auto-replies for when you're away, and labels to organize contacts. The AI starts suggesting replies from day one, and every time you approve one, it learns a little more.

If you're coming from Whaticket, the interface change is noticeable but not traumatic. The inbox is similar, with the difference that next to each message you see a suggested reply that you can edit or accept with a click.

Migrating from Whaticket to Wando is not a leap into the void: your number stays the same, contacts can be carried over, and history can be exported. What does change is the way you work, and that's exactly what you're looking for. Try Wando for 14 days, connect your number, and see if the AI suggestions make your life easier. If not, you stay on Whaticket and you've lost nothing.
